The official site has the current download and installation guide. Read through the requirements and back up anything important before changing your system.

We keep the download with the maintainers. They know which release is current, which machines it supports, and what the installation process actually does. Our contribution is standing nearby saying that it all looks suspiciously convenient.

Just looking?

Perfectly reasonable. The official installation section also links to ways to try Omarchy in a virtual machine on Mac or Windows. See if you like it before making it your daily desktop.

A screenshot is a good introduction to the colours. It is less useful for finding out whether you like the shortcuts, the window layout, or the applications. Give yourself a little time to do the ordinary things you would do on any computer. If it feels right, you can take the next step. If it doesn't, you have learned that without having to write a twelve-part thread.

What happens after the installation?

Ideally, you use the computer. You open the applications you need, get a little more comfortable with the shortcuts, and change the bits that do not suit you. There is no requirement to immediately announce a new identity or explain your desktop preferences to relatives.

If you do end up sharing a screenshot, helping someone, or making a small plugin, we will add it to the growing body of evidence. For now, getting your work done on a machine you enjoy is quite enough.

You do not need to become a different person. A computer you like using will do.

The reluctant manual covers settling in, choosing a theme, and the unfortunate possibility of getting some work done. The community page is there if you want to meet the other people this has happened to.

Downloads and instructions live with the maintainers. This parody does not distribute installation files.
